CEL announces new Pacific Beach centre

CEL will move to a brand-new, “state-of-the-art facility” in Pacific Beach, just two minutes from the current location and a five-minute walk from the beach. Subject to final confirmation, the relocation date is planned for December 30th, 2024.

“With a commitment to providing an exceptional learning experience, CEL is making significant upgrades to its facilities and student offerings,” it said.

The provider said that the upgraded campus will feature expanded capacity for more than 300 students.

Meanwhile, facilities will include modern, refurbished spaces, and enhanced learning environment with “bright, airy classrooms equipped with air conditioning, smart TVs and interactive projectors, and student-friendly amenities such as a welcoming reception area and a large, comfortable student lounge.

“Our new premises reflect CEL’s unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Christopher Thebing , Managing Partner at CEL. “These upgrades ensure that our students enjoy not only top-notch educational facilities but also the stunning coastal lifestyle that San Diego is known for.”

As part of the strategy, the CEL San Diego Downtown and CEL Pacific Beach schools will merge into a single campus at the new Pacific Beach location by the end of March 2025.

CEL said that the consolidation will “create a unified, vibrant hub for language learning, enriching the student experience through an enhanced nationality mix and greater opportunities for cultural exchange”.

The provider said that as the new campus nears completion, it will provide fresh marketing materials for partners, including photos, videos and other assets.

First established in 1981, College of English Language CEL also operates a campus in Santa Monica and earlier announced an expansion into Canada in partnership with St Giles International Vancouver.

CEL, which unveiled a refreshed brand last year, is accredited by CEA Commission on English Language Program Accreditation , is a member of EnglishUSA and Quality English , and won the ST Star English Language School North America category at the StudyTravel Star Awards 2024.
