Secondary Focus: US secondary schools survey

Agent usage among international students wanting to study at a secondary school in the USA has increased over the last 10 years, alongside student diversity as schools have become less dependent on Asian nationalities in their international recruitment.

Key points:

  • 30 schools took part in our survey of US secondary schools.

  • The total number of international students at all the schools was 3,369.

  • International student numbers increased by 10 per cent between 2021/22 and 2022/23.

  • International student numbers ranged from one to 2,000 at individual schools.

  • Average commission rates for tuition and boarding fees across  schools were 12 per cent.
